Our cold pressed, extra virgin, olive oils have stood the test of judges from coast to coast. Our Tuscan Blend olive oil has been awarded the gold medal in both the 2016 Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition and the 2016 New York International Olive Oil Competition.
In 2006 Solana Farms broke ground and prepared nearly 7 acres of land that included terracing and drip irrigation for a high density olive production. This method has been successfully utilized in Catalonia Spain for over 20 years and has been adopted throughout California. The Spanish varietal Arbequina was chosen because of its precious properties of self fruiting and a superior oil quality; fruity flavors and incredibly aromatic, with a moderate pungency and bitterness. In following years, we have included in our orchard, Mission, Manzanilla, and Tuscan trees, further expanding our blends of olive oils. What begins in our orchards is then followed by our methods. The process of crafting our olive oil is an age old secret, to harvest the olives at the height of their ripeness, and to press them within moments of being harvested.
